a start without its end is just a star

Our bodies are flimsy things. A small amount of blunt force trauma, a swiftly wielded sharp edge, a few drops of this or that chemical, and our bodies are ruined. Constantly we move among objects and fixtures that threaten our physical existence. Almost any household object used in an unfortunate manner can result in injury or death. We are always walking along the edge of a cliff, little bits giving way with each step.

But what of a soul? Is a soul not easily damaged as well? A few well-timed vibrations in the air around us can cause irreparable damage; sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will surely pierce my heart. We are not vulnerable merely to words, though, as events as ordinary as a poor showing to an exam or as hopefully uncommon as a death in the family similarly mar our unseen countenance.

(to be finished later)

In conclusion, it is difficult to complete a thought after it has already left from your brain.
